Zines have served as mediums of arts for many years of this planet. Magazines have additionally played their own role in terms of distribution, vision, and pushing the narrative & culture in a way that moves us forward - and we would argue even sometimes back. This online publication centers living, working and playing to resist oppression and develop healthy communities across Los Angeles & beyond.
Mission
Historically transgender, gender expansive & intersex (TGI) communities have been left out of the main narrative of print & online publications. Nationwide, the Queer and Trans (LGBTQIA2S+) communities are under an unprecedented attack, and we recognize that change requires all of us.

The Trans Takeover is an exploration of TGI Dignity, Equity, & Recognition.
DIGNITY protects US.
EQUITY enforces justice.
RECOGNITION grows respect.

"I see myself as the Chameleon of the world, the Trans Alchemist who understands that through writing I’ve been able to claim a part of me that also shows up further in the world. In the journey I learned that tetris is best played when you breathe before each step. I see that the shape of life was not a single model but rather an origami of beauty that captured my journey. In writing I found that I could process love, death, and even the way power impacts the communities I'm a part of. I was able to envision a world for both my community and culture that allowed Camila to show up more."
